 Land Improvement and Restoration
Land in Texas has changed over the last several hundred years. Settlement and cattle operations have changed our landscape. Additionally, the lack of wild fires has allowed Ashe Juniper, a.k.a. cedar, to move out of the steeper canyons. Wildlife depend on native grasses and forbes (plants), but invasive species such as KR Bluestem are crowding out our natives. Preservation Texas offers several services to help improve and restore the natural landscape.
- Cedar clearing and management
- Brush management
- Planting of native trees, plants, and grasses
- Butterfly and hummingbird gardens
- Ponds and spring creation / restoration
